I wanted to report a VERY disappointing experience with Kerry's Car Care (KCC). On 3/1/19 (a Friday) my car would not start, and being new to the Phoenix area, I had it towed to KKC (28211 N. North Valley Parkway). The problem was diagnosed as my fuel pump needing to be replaced. I was quoted a price of $1,942. Per my review of some info on the internet and making a phone call to another local mechanic, I determined this was "rather outrageous". I advised KCC of this information, and was advised that IF I provided written estimates of the other prices, KCC would honor them. After considerable time and energy, making multiple phone calls, faxes, and e-mails, I obtained two written estimates. One for $789, and one for $778. Not wanting to have my car re-towed to another location, and risk not having my car until Monday I had KCC complete the work. KCC's final charge with diagnostic fee $987. (HALF of their original quote!!!) Upon presenting a coupon for a $50 discount on $500 of service, I was advised KCC would NOT honor their coupon!!. I inquired why the original $1.9k+ quote was so much. I was rather surprised that KCC "defended" their original quote basically advising, the other quotes were based on sub-standard parts, etc. and that accordingly KCC used sub-standard parts to meet those prices. Of course, it is entirely possible KCC would have used the same "sub-standard parts, etc." and still charged me $1,942. KCC seemed very proud of themselves for "honoring" their competitor's prices, which I needed to expend notable time and energy to obtain just to keep KCC from "ripping me off"!!. This will be my first and final and only interaction with KCC. I strongly suggest YOU be wary of (and avoid) KCC as well.............GJM 3/15/2019 Follow-up on the above from 3/15/2019. As noted below, "an owner" reached out, and we did talk, and he "expressed concern". Advised he would "investigate", but I never heard back anything on this "investigation". I still consider Kerry's Car Care to owe me (at least) $50 for NOT honoring their $50 off coupon. And so it goes,........GJM 3/28/2019 ok,...one last? update: regarding very disappointing experience on 3/1/2019 - detailed above. Must/will give credit to an owner/regional manager who advised he would review my experience and get back to me. Which he (finally) did. Ultimately, I was give coupons for three (3) free oil-changes & tire rotations given my prior disappointing experience. Basically, of course, motivation for me to "try them again". Given KCC's prior refusal to honor their own coupon, I will see how that goes. That noted, I do respect and appreciate the effort to follow-up and address my prior disappointing experience...........GJM 4/12/2019
